Dear Parents and Guardians:

Thank you for bringing your child to participate in Pop Warner athletics. Participants in the youth football program will compete with children of similar age and weight, cheerleaders by age only.

KMO has been meeting the needs of the youth in our community since 1919. Our goal is to administer programs that provide not only lessons on the sports field but lessons on life as well to the youth of Kings Mountain. By believing in our young people, and empowering them to be the best they can, we make our community and the world a better place to live.

We are excited and anticipate another great season. It takes your support to make our program successful for the children in our community. Your assistance is vital to the program. There are numerous opportunities for you to help support our program. No Optimist members or coaches are paid for their services. We are all volunteers just like you and we will appreciate any assistance you give.

Only 2011 Optimist coaches, Optimist members, referees and EMT's will be allowed to park on the opposite side of the football field. Please DO NOT park in Post Office parking lot or your vehicle will be TOWED!

When Daylight Savings time moves time back one hour in the fall, it gets dark very early. Please use caution and pick your child up inside the stadium.
If you are unable to remain at practices and games, please make arrangements with a designated person to be responsible for your child. In the past, children have been left unsupervised at the field after practices and games and Law Enforcement has been called when parents don't know who their child left the field with. We have been very fortunate and a child has never been in danger, and we would like to keep it that way.

Cheerleaders

are provided a uniform. Football players are provided a uniform, pants pads, helmet, shoulder pads and a mouth piece. All uniforms and equipment are purchased by the Optimist Club.

In order to provide this service, the Optimist Club depends on admission fees, registration fees, concession profits and any contribution from the community.

We would greatly appreciate your help.
